Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei was joined by two celebrated scientists and futurists to discuss the promises and challenges of the future intelligent world powered by 5G and AI. They focused on three key areas:

Innovation: the role of tech in the evolution of society, from ‘information’ to ‘being smart’ 

• How will ICT technology evolve in the future?
• What changes and impacts will new tech, such as AI, bring to all walks of life (economy, education, employment) and even social governance and international relations?

Rules: How to manage the risks and disputes brought about by new technologies 

• How can we ensure AI is credible and able to be controlled, while promoting its development? 
• What policies, standards or regulations should governments introduce? 
• What principles should the company establish?

Trust: a matter of technology decoupling or global cooperation?

• Technology has its own pattern of development. Is "technical decoupling" wishful thinking by politicians? 
• What is the prospect of globalisation? Will “One world, two systems” become a reality?
