Delivering the Full-Fibre Gigabit Society

The European Commission has set ambitious targets for the roll-out of very high capacity networks as it looks to achieve its objective of delivering the gigabit society in Europe by 2025.

Many countries could miss these targets however, as Europe is lagging behind benchmarks set in other regions around the world. 

During this online session, organised in partnership with Huawei, participants discussed barriers to deployment as well as strategies to address these. 

The event also presented new research by Analysys Mason. The report identifies challenges that operators are facing, and possible approaches to overcoming them. It also takes stock of the deployment of high-speed broadband and the economic, social and environmental benefits of its roll-out in Europe.
