George Panou

George Panou is a Senior IT & Business executive and entrepreneur. He has been leading digital innovation and digital transformation projects for more than 20 years for financial institutions – banks, large enterprises and public sector organisations in Greece and the EMEA region.

As the Group Digital Innovation Director for Mellon Group of Companies, he is responsible for Digital Innovation & Digital Transformation, developing digital strategies and delivering multi-channel solutions for a wide variety of clients and industries, aligning business and technology.

Mr. Panou is a Member of the Advisory Board for the 5G Infrastructure Public Private Partnership (5G PPP), an initiative between the European Commission and the European ICT industry. He is also a founding member and a Μember of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Blockchain Hub (HBH) and the 1st Certified Blockchain Professional (CBP) by the IIB Council in Greece, providing thought leadership on Blockchain and emerging technologies.

As a subject matter expert, he is advisor to an international client base of institutional investment firms, banks, corporations and consulting firms on information and emerging technologies and a guest lecturer at the ESADE business school.
