Joop Hazenberg

Joop Hazenberg is Director of EU External Affairs at GSMA. He has worked for over a decade on European integration and is based in Brussels since 2013. For GSMA, the global association of mobile network operators and companies active in the mobile sector, he helps deepen cooperation with other industries, such as the renewable energy and automotive sectors.

Following a career in governmental affairs in the Netherlands, Mr Hazenberg became a freelancer, developing projects on major shifts in society. Since 2009, he published five books and one documentary, gave dozens of keynote speeches at international conferences, had many media appearances (including on BBC World) and founded a think-tank in the Netherlands.
