(Brussels, 21 May 2019) – Huawei today reaffirmed its commitment to roll out 5G “The European Way”, at a debate held in the Huawei Cybersecurity Transparency Centre in Brussels.
Huawei shared updates on the use of its ON2.0 solution with more than 200 customers worldwide during its 6th Optical Network Innovation Forum in Nice, France.
Huawei is the unparalleled leader in 5G. We are ready and willing to engage with the US government and come up with effective measures to ensure product security. Restricting Huawei from doing business in the US will not make the US more secure or stronger; instead, this will only serve to limit the US to inferior yet more expensive alternatives, leaving the US lagging behind in 5G deployment, and eventually harming the interests of US companies and consumers. In addition, unreasonable restrictions will infringe upon Huawei's rights and raise other serious legal issues.

Swiss mobile operator Sunrise and Huawei have launched the first 5G smartphone in Switzerland. Sunrise shops are the only place customers can see and test the Huawei Mate 20 X (5G).
The white paper analyses 5G service requirements and points out that 5G microwave requires ultra-large bandwidth, ultra-high spectral efficiency, and network automation.

Huawei is surprised and disappointed by the comments made about Huawei by European Commission Vice President Andrus Ansip at today’s press conference on AI in Brussels. During the press conference, Vice President Ansip responded to a question regarding Huawei’s role in some European driverless cars and 5G projects in the context of security allegations against the company.
